Joining us
Becoming a volunteer:
Over the years, we have observed two types of volunteers likely to get involved in our association:
- The first type is a volunteer with a little time to devote to the association, without it being too restrictive. He will mainly participate in the animation of stands organized during events such as festivals or fairs and in the animation of “Bricolo écolo” workshops. Volunteers contribute to the setting up of the stand and to informing the public about the activities of the association. These commitments generally last between half a day and a day. The “Bricolo écolo” workshops last two to four hours and require few prerequisites, if not the prior reading of the workshop instructions. Volunteers help to set up and lead these workshops. These take place in schools, leisure centers, residents’ homes, etc.
- The second type is a volunteer with more time and who wants to discover the social and technical aspects of the association by helping people in precarious situations to self-produce wooden objects. This commitment requires availability of one to two days per week on average over several months.
Becoming a civic service volunteer :
Two to three civic service volunteers are permanently present in the association. The missions generally last 8 months, with a commitment of 30 hours per week. The volunteers participate in the association’s activities, contribute to the animation of ecological DIY workshops, supported self-production workshops, and to the management of stands at events. We train them in the design and manufacture of wooden objects, with dedicated training support. We ensure that they can participate in the realization of a support project, from the design to the production of the one-fifth scale model, including of course the physical production (except in the event of circumstantial obstacles). Civic and citizenship training is provided internally, with readings from our library on social issues and critical thinking, as well as externally during two days of training and the passing of the PSC1. Geographically, the volunteering takes place mainly between Grenoble, where we are present two thirds of the time and Mens, where we are present one third of the time. The association provides a vehicle to move the volunteers to Mens, as well as an apartment located above the workshop to accommodate them.
Becoming an intern :
We sometimes welcome interns, do not hesitate to contact us. We involve them in the activities of the association and entrust them with a mission in line with the educational objectives of their trainin
Becoming an apprentice:
Every year, we welcome a work-study student with a master’s degree in ESS. This student is responsible for developing operational and financial partnerships for our various projects, administrative management of the structure and communication. These missions are carried out in close collaboration with other employees and members of the board of directors. Occasionally, the work-study student can participate in running ecological DIY or supported self-production workshops. We do not accept work-study students with training related to carpentry, because we consider that the practical workshop activity that we could offer them is not sufficiently important in terms of hourly volume.
Becoming an employee:
The payroll has changed little in recent years. We may be required to recruit to compensate for temporary increases in activity, in the form of fixed-term contracts (CDD).
